In the osteoporosis test of the attack, the patient stands barefoot on a fixed plan. With an arm in a horizontal, it is asked to look as far as possible without losing balance. Using a scale arranged on a wall, the distance is measured by the examiner.

In the osteoporosis test of support monopodal, the doctor measure the maximum period for which the patient is able to stand on one foot. The results are expressed as the required position is held more or less than 5 seconds.

A study conducted by 1 004 general practitioners with 4 900 patients aged 70 and over showed that they had a high risk of poor results. Only 20% of them osteoporosis scored "normal" test of the infringement, and 40% test support monopodal.

And the results are deteriorating with age: only 11% of nonagenarians have good results in the first test. And 16% in the second.
